Characters

looter icon The Looter

A talented thief, mechanic and driver. He is the only human on Rarc, unaware of who or what exactly he is.

The unbecoming moniker given to him at a young age stuck, and has become his name, species designation and profession all at once.

Unbothered and through endless pragmatism, he tries his best to stay true to his principles while keeping his pockets lined and his belly filled.

Despite the result being mostly self-preservational activities, he cares deeply about Drake, whom he trusts blindly and unconditionally.

The Looter is always trying to achieve material bliss, but whenever a goal has been reached, a more ambitious one seems to have sprouted in its place.

With opportunities around every corner and driven by all he covets, he is unlikely to ever stop exploring - Searching every inch of Rarc in pursuit of whatever it is he truly wants.

His favorite color is brown.

drake icon Drake

A blue Encholian with an artist's heart.

He was chased out of his home village at a young age and threatened with execution by his own people numerous times,

all for the color of his skin being a culturally shunned and feared phenotype.

Through this, Drake has known true fear - which has not stopped him from developing a deep compassion for the world around him:

For Drake, all living things are worthy of love, his ambition is to learn all there is about his home-planet.

oscar icon Oscar

A gigantic Tortoise, who's name is in discordance to her gender.

Her massive shell provides the footing for the Looter & Drake's house, a structure that is constantly changed and improved upon by the Looter - a pet project so to speak.

Oscar has a calm and gentle soul and is most content when surrounded by the dry desert winds and a few Pyornas to chew on.

According to Drake she is exactly as fast as she needs to be and according to the Looter she is just slow enough to stay inoffensive.

The mystery of her size is second only to the puzzle of how she and Looter came to Rarc.

yalina icon Yalina

A third generation Paradinnian colonist with a knack for commerce.

She is a ruthless, predatory reseller and a genius financial strategist with no fear of dabbling in any shade of the Central Colony market spectrum.

Like all Paradinnians, her smile is permanent - a by-product of her skull shape. They are famously incapable of most emotional nuances and have an incredibly limited range of empathy.

However, this has not stopped Yalina from forming a strong bond with the Looter and Drake, both of whom she considers great business partners and friends.

Like most of her kin, she is equipped with a BUD-PAK, serving as a second set of eyes in case of an ambush... by another Paradinnian.

bud-pak icon Bud-Pak

Back-worn Utility Drone with Programmable Analysis Kernel. An ingenious automaton invented on the Paradinnian homeworld a long time ago.

BUDs are modular and used to come in many shapes and functions, only few of which managed to make it to Rarc.

The remnants of this golden age of Paradinnian engineering can now be seen on the backs of Paradinnian colonists.

Yalina's BUD-PAK has served every mother in her family and has been kept functional through numerous repairs - it sometimes needs a little kick for motivation.

dhal icon D'hal

A colonist of the Tempridont species. Famously, the Tempridontae neglected to send their female grubs on the journey to Rarc, citing the survey as too risky for the rarer gender.

Now stuck and with no way to contact their homeworld, the descendants of the original male grubs have had to reproduce through asexual self fertilization - much to their dismay.

While D'hal feels for his people, he does not miss the company- his heart belongs to his longtime partner Khan, with whom he shares every moment and Crystoid.

A short-lived acquaintance with the Looter left him an amputee, though strangely both him and the Looter refuse to discuss the ordeal with anyone.

Since then, he has been trying to get the numerous prosthetic arms paid for by his former colleague, but is usually met with resistance or worse, a steeper bill.

khan icon Khan

Descended from the first Seisnian that set foot on Rarc, Khan carries all the pride and candor of his people - quietly.

He is an avid reader and writer, though shy to show it. His poems have moved many hearts, all of which belong to D'hal.

After a bit of developmental delay, he only recently managed to come out of his second molt, giving him the distinct S-shaped body of a fully grown Seisnian.

His altruism shows in many ways, chiefly in that he allows D'hal to ride on his back when his short legs tire out.

His large metal collar is a mandatory neck-brace for all Seisnians on Rarc, as their large head needs extra support when not on their homeworld.
